Everything people ask before trusting a free résumé tool.
Short, specific answers. If something here is unclear or turns out to be wrong, tell us and we will fix the page.
Is Conxresume really free?
Yes — the résumé builder, the cover letter builder and the ATS check are free with no account, no watermark and no limit on how many résumés you build or download. There is no paid tier of these tools, so there is nothing to unlock later. Conxto, the paid product, is a separate thing: agents that search and apply for you.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can build, edit, download and export a résumé without giving us an email address. Your documents are stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
Where are my résumés stored?
In your browser's local storage on the device you used. We never upload them. That also means they are not synced between devices and clearing your browser data will delete them, so download anything you want to keep.
What does the ATS check actually do?
It runs deterministic format rules — can a parser find your name, contact details and sections; does the layout survive being read as plain text — and, if you paste a real job posting, it reports honest keyword coverage against it. It never invents a score. Every finding names the rule that produced it.
Will an ATS reject a designed template?
Some will struggle with multi-column layouts and text inside graphics, which is why every template on this site is labelled ATS-safe or Designed. ATS-safe keeps your résumé in one readable text flow. Designed is better for a human reviewer and riskier for a large company's portal.
Does AI write my cover letter?
No. The cover letter builder chooses which of your own résumé lines best answer the posting and builds the letter around them. Every paragraph shows which line of your résumé it came from. It also tells you what the posting asks for that your résumé cannot back up — and it will not claim those things on your behalf.
Where does the market data come from?
From our own job engine. We collect live postings from multiple sources and count how many name each skill, so a figure like "37% of 435 live software engineer postings ask for Python" is a count, not a survey or an estimate. Every percentage is published with the number of postings it came from, and roles we cannot describe honestly show nothing at all.
Which file formats can I download?
PDF and DOCX, plus Markdown, plain text and JSON. The PDF is rendered by your own browser by default, so the document never leaves your device.
Can I use these résumés commercially, or edit them later?
Yes. The résumé is yours. You can come back and edit it any time, switch template without losing a word, and keep multiple versions.
How is this different from other free résumé builders?
Two things. Nothing is paywalled at the end — most "free" builders let you build and then charge to download. And we run a job engine, so we can tell you what employers are actually asking for this month rather than only what a résumé should look like.
